Calvin E. Bright Success Center
The mission of the Calvin E. Bright Success Center is to provide academic advising and learning support services which empower students to be successful in their academic and personal development. The TRV program falls under the umbrella of the Bright Success Center's many programs.
The Bright Success Center provides many services such as:

Fiat Lux: a community of scholars and dedicated staff who take a holistic approach to empower a select cohort of first-generation, income-eligible students to enhance their development, growth and academic success. TRV works closely with Maria Rosales and the first-generation students who enter UC Merced as Transfer Students through community colleges.

Guardian Scholars: a sustainable network of academic and personal support services that promote degree attainment for foster youth at UC Merced. Kevin Bristow works with TRV by providing foster youth information on our program who enter UC Merced as Transfers from Merced College.

Orientation: The mission of UC Merced Orientation is to be an empowering and transformational experience that prepares a successful pathway to graduation. Orientation staff is responsible for Freshman orientation, but has provided immense support to TRV with Transfer Orientation.

Success Mentor Program: empowers first-year students to develop strategies and skills that will advance academic, intrapersonal and interpersonal development through one-on-one mentoring with upper-division students. The Success Mentor Program provides workshops that also apply to new incoming students.

STEP Scholars Program: a new and exciting program designed for 2nd year students preparing to transition from Undeclared to a major. Ger Xiong, the Program Coordinator, assists the USTU-10 course designed only for Transfer students.

PALS: Peer Assisted Learning Suppport advances the idea of learning communities by providing a less restrictive learning environment, increasing accessibility to knowledge, and modeling learning behaviors and skills that encourage success. PALS works closely with the Academic Support team of TRV to provide tutors for private study rooms for Academic Support Fellows to lead study sessions.
