What is a Transfer Student?
A Transfer Student is someone who has previously taken college-level courses at another accredited institution after finishing high school, excluding summer classes immediately after high school graduation. This includes students coming from two-year community colleges or other four-year universities.

Transfer Scholars Program
The Transfer Scholars Program is a program designed to support transfer students during their time here at UC Merced through peer mentoring and scholarship funding. Scholars will have access to workshops that contribute to their personal and professional development, as well as socials to build community and sense of belonging. Eligibility into the program is by invite only and is solely determined by the Office of Financial Aid, click here for specific eligibility requirements. To maintain eligibility in the program scholars must attend (1) personal or professional development workshop, (1) social function, and must meet with the TRV Coordinator once a semester.
Transfer LLC
The Transfer Living Learning Community (LLC) is an on-campus housing option in our apartment style residence hall, Valley Terrace. The LLC provides a supportive environment for transfer students to successfully transition to UC Merced’s culture and community. We aim to provide resources that vary widely from freshmen services because we recognize the support you need is different. Part of the requirements of the LLC include attending (1) personal or professional development workshop, (1) social function, and meeting with the TRV Coordinator once a semester.
